- Dhami government’s focus on development, Secretary Housing reviews everything from master plan to illegal construction
- Following the directions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Housing Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar reviewed development works and schemes and issued necessary instructions to officials.
Following the directives of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Secretary Housing and State Estates Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar held a review meeting with the Vice Chairman and Secretaries of all state authorities related to the Housing Department, as well as other officials, to review various schemes and development works being undertaken by the authorities. The meeting discussed in detail the planned development of cities, the Master Plan, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the prompt redressal of citizen complaints, the Nazul Policy, the One Stop Solution Scheme (OTS), action against illegal construction, and the progress of RERA-related works. The Secretary directed the officials to expedite the implementation of the projects and ensure quality and timeliness of the work. The meeting reviewed the current status of development works and the achievements of ongoing schemes. The department’s future action plan and vision for the future were also discussed. The Secretary emphasized that effective monitoring at the departmental level is essential to ensure the benefits of development schemes reach the general public. There should be no unnecessary delays in the implementation of schemes at any level.
Master plan will gain momentum
The review meeting focused on the progress and current status of master plans for various districts and cities. Describing master plans as an important foundation for the planned and balanced development of cities, the Secretary inquired about their progress from the concerned officials. He directed that work related to the master plan be carried forward within the stipulated timeframe and that a focus be placed on planned development, keeping future needs in mind.
Emphasis on PM Housing Scheme too
While reviewing the progress of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme), emphasis was placed on ensuring the delivery of housing benefits to eligible beneficiaries. The Secretary directed that transparency and timeliness be ensured in the implementation of the schemes.
Quick resolution of complaints
The Secretary also directed officials to work diligently to expedite the resolution of citizen complaints and allotment-related cases. He said that matters involving the general public should not be unnecessarily delayed and that a timely resolution of each case should be ensured as per the rules.
Nazul policy, OTS and illegal construction under scrutiny
The review meeting also included information on matters related to the Nazul policy and the One Stop Solution (OTS). While reviewing the action being taken against illegal construction, the Secretary clarified that effective action should be taken against violators as per the rules. The need for constant monitoring was also emphasized to effectively curb unplanned and illegal construction in cities.
RERA’s work is also being reviewed
The meeting also discussed the progress of work related to the Land Regulatory and Development Authority (RERA). Necessary guidelines were provided regarding transparency in the real estate sector, monitoring of projects, and timely resolution of related matters.
Housing Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar said that in accordance with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s vision, accelerating the Housing Department’s schemes and development works, as well as providing better facilities to the general public, is a priority. He gave clear instructions to officials to ensure all work is completed with quality, transparency, and timeliness.
